Island Trading Co., Island Records' distribution company in the U.S. in the 1980s, distributed releases on Island and its sublabels, as well as releases on indie labels not otherwise affiliated with Island. Some Island sublabels were billed as divisions of Island Trading Co. The Island Trading Co.'s logo/trademark was owned by Antilles Communications, Ltd. When PolyGram took over Island in 1989, Island Trading Co. was renamed Independent Label Sales (I.L.S.) and began selling exclusively to other big distributors.
