Doctor Jazz

Jazz label launched by Bob Thiele Jr. in early 1983 to release new sounds (including those of his wife Teresa Brewer) and reissues of old Sound Signature recordings.

It is not completely clear when the label was first introduced. Reportedly the name was first used for a production firm Bob Thiele started in 1976. In 1977 it is reported that there are plans to launch the Doctor Jazz label in January 1978 but it seems that this never happened. In 1983 there are reports that Teresa Brewer's new release will be on Thiele's "new label" called Doctor Jazz.
