
Flying Nun Records
New Zealand label, founded in 1981. Self-distributed from 1981 to October 1987. Distributed by [l=WEA Records Limited], Oct 1987 to April 1990, then to [l=Festival Records (NZ) Ltd.] (for NZ) and Mushroom Records (in Australia). Partially sold to [l=Mushroom Records] at the same time, with Mushroom acquiring the balance over the next decade. When Warner Music purchased [l=Festival Mushroom Records] in 2005, Flying Nun went as part of the deal. In 2010 Flying Nun was sold to a consortium owned by founder [a=Roger Shepherd] and [a=Neil Finn]. Owned in 2023 by Shepherd and [a=Ben Howe].
