Disc'Az

French label established in 1963 by Lucien Morisse; also appears as "Disc AZ", "Disc' Az" or "AZ" only. May also appear as "TC AZ" on Canadian releases (distributed by Trans-Canada).

SG prefix = Série Gémeaux singles. French Discodis distributed issues usually have AZ 10 ??? number and SG number. In such cases add the AZ number to label, then add Série Gémeaux and SG number to series.

For some activities it is just known as AZ (i.e. distribution and marketing). Although Disc'Az has acted as a distributor itself, marketing strategies changed over time, and the label has been handled via many other distributors, including: Disques Vogue (1963-1968), Discodis/Disc'AZ (1968-1984), Disc'AZ/Musidisc (1984-1997), M10 (1998-1999).

The label was bought by the Musidisc group on June 29, 1984, which itself was bought by the Universal Music group in 1999.
