Playerphone

U.S. record label, ca. 1916-17. This was a short-lived vertical-cut product that was manufactured by the [l=Rex Talking Machine Corporation] for [l=The Playerphone Talking Machine Co.] The few known releases use couplings and catalog numbers that are identical to those of corresponding [l=Rex Record (3)] releases. Playerphone appears in the 1916 Talking Machine World Trade Directory, but is absent from the 1917 and subsequent editions.
