Spoken word/audiobook US label founded in 1952 by Barbara Ann Holdridge (née Cohen, July 26, 1929 - June 9, 2025) and Marianne Mantell (née Roney, November 23, 1929 - January 22, 2023) and originally owned by Caedmon Records, Inc. The company's first release "[r33260157]" (featuring the Welsh poet's story "A Child’s Christmas in Wales") had sold 400,000 by the end of the 1950s. The label was sold to D.C. Heath. a Raytheon subsidiary, in 1970 and eventually became part of HarperCollins Audio Books where it remains an imprint.
"Caedmon: a Third Dimension for the Printed Page" was its early marketing slogan.
