Spoken word/audiobook US label founded in 1952 by Barbara Ann Holdridge (née Cohen, July 26, 1929 - June 9, 2025) and Marianne Mantell (née Roney, November 23, 1929 - January 22, 2023) and originally owned by Caedmon Records, Inc. The company's first release "33260157" (featuring the Welsh poet's story "A Child’s Christmas in Wales") had sold 400,000 by the end of the 1950s. The label was sold to D.C. Heath. a Raytheon subsidiary, in 1970 and eventually became part of HarperCollins Audio Books where it remains an imprint.
"Caedmon: a Third Dimension for the Printed Page" was its early marketing slogan.
