Planet Dog
UK Ambient / Techno / Breakbeat / Goa Trance label. Off-shoot of the organisation that ran Club Dog in London and the infamous touring Megadog parties, with office in Camden Town. The two biggest acts on the label, [a=Banco de Gaia] and [a=Eat Static], had their first CD releases after signing to Planet Dog (prior to this they'd only released tapes and/or vinyl).
At first the label had separate numbering for singles (e.g. BARK 001 CDS/T) and albums (BARK CD/LP 001) but following mix-ups at the manufacturing plant they decided to adopt a common scheme for both (i.e. 005, 006 and 007 are albums only; 008, 009 and 010 are singles only; etc).
After the label closed in the late 90's, two further Planet Dog albums came out on the [l=Liquid] label: [r=183486] and [r=149491]. There was also a collection of Peel Sessions by three Planet Dog acts on the [l=Strange Fruit] label: [r=89564]. Several Planet Dog releases were reissued in America on Mammoth, and as of 2022 many of the original Planet Dog releases are still available direct from the label website.
