In 1971 the board of Electric & Musical Industries Ltd. (E.M.I. Ltd.) decided to rename itself , to reflect how its brand was now globally seen. In circa 1972 following its parents policy E.M.I. (Malaysia) is subsequently renamed EMI (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd.
