Famous Door

Founded by Harry Lim, a native of Indonesia, in 1972. He was previously the jazz producer for Keynote Records from 1943-1946. Lim recorded a number of top mainstream jazz artists for his label, though it folded after his death on July 27, 1990. The label was subsequently sold to George H. Buck of Collectors Record Club and some of these hard to find LPs have been reissued as either CDs with bonus tracks or compilations of two or more LPs on a single or double CD in The Famous Door Series.
