Established in 1963 as part of when that company took over Nigeria Records Ltd., the pressing plant in Onitsha founded in 1960 as a joint venture between Philips and C. T. Onyekwelu of . In 1980 the company was renamed to [l=Polygram Records Ltd. Nigeria].
Vinyl pressings can be identified by "701" in the runouts (mastering took place in Baarn, Holland though).
