WMOT (We Men Of Talent) was owned by Steve Bernstein, Alan Rubens and David Chacker, before they sold the company to Michael Goldberg, Allen Cohen and Jeff and Mark Salvarian. Subsequently, dental student, alleged dealer & "silent partner" Larry Lavin was convicted of money-laundering, and the label was forced into bankruptcy. It was then restructured and bought by CBS/Sony. During different phases of the label's more active years, WMOT was a subsidiary of Intec Records and later had a distribution arrangement with Fantasy as Fantasy WMOT Records.
