Started in 1956 by Mrs. Carmen Murphy, who owned the House of Beauty, the beauty parlor that the label is named after.
Mrs. Murphy sold the HOB catalog and name to Scepter Records in early 1960.
The HOB catalog was purchased by Roadshow Records in March 1978.
Also appears as HOB Records.
