Multinational shellac label introduced in 1901. Some releases show the name as [i]Concert Record “Gramophone”[/I]. First the Recording Angel trademark was used on the labels. In February 1909 it was replaced by the Nipper trademark.

These records are all 10". Sister labels are [l=Gramophone Record] for 7" records and [l=Gramophone Monarch Record] for 12" records.

The label was used by several companies such as [l=The Gramophone Co. Ltd.], , [l=Deutsche Grammophon-Aktiengesellschaft], [l=Österreichische Grammophon-Gesellschaft m.b.H.], [l=Rakouská Gramofonová Společnost s. r. o.] among others.

[b]Germany[/b]
On German releases the "Cat. No." is called "Bestell No." and the number is the same on both sides of the record. The face numbers on the labels are called "Katalog No." and are different on both sides of the record. The "Bestell No." system was introduced in May 1912. If a "Bestell No." appears on the release please use it as Catalog#. If no "Bestell No." is present on the record use both face numbers as single Catalog#s.
Around 1914 the label name [url=http://www.discogs.com/label/75886-Grammophon]Schallplatte „Grammophon“[/url] was introduced for the German speaking market and the name Concert Record “Gramophone” was no longer used.

The French name of the label is [l=Disque Pour Gramophone].
