American independent jazz label established in Los Angeles, California, launched by producer/impresario [a=Norman Granz] on February 4, 1954, to ease distribution bottlenecks at his [l=Clef Records] label.
Absorbed into Granz' [l=Verve Records] in 1956.
Norgran's initial artist roster comprised , , , , , , , , , and . Norgran's initial release schedule was LPs on the first of each month, and EPs and singles on the 15th of each month.
Some releases may display "muenster-dummel Hi-Fi recording" emblem on the cover. This is a marketing gimmick only, not a credit or series, and may be added to the release notes:
