From its beginnings in downtown Manhattan, Gramavision has looked for what is new in jazz, funk, and 20th Century composition, aiming into uncharted waters well beyond the mainstream. Since 1994 Gramavision is a sublabel of Rykodisc. As a Rykodisc label, Gramavision continues to apply a liberal definition of what is jazz, and strives to provide a forum for timeless music that satisfies both mind and soul.
