Island Def Jam Music Group

US-based label group, mainly consisting of the operations of [l=Island Records] and [l=Def Jam Recordings]. Operated from January 1, 1999 to April 1, 2014, as Island Records America and Def Jam Recordings began operating separately under the [l=Universal Music Group]. Meanwhile, [l=Mercury] Records shuttered once again into Island Records, but had since been revived by UMG in 2022 and moved to sister label [l=Republic Records].

'The Island Def Jam Music Group' is usually only mentioned as copyright holder on releases. Only enter it as label when the combined 'Island Def Jam' logo appears on the release.
When there is only an Island Records logo, use [l=Island Records] as label.
When there is only a Def Jam Recordings logo, use [l=Def Jam Recordings] as label.
