The company had the rights in Southern Africa to [l=Capitol Records] from the early 1950s until the end of 1955 (when it went to the local EMI licensee along with the rest of the world outside the USA).
It was the first company in the world to use the [l=CBS] label (from 1 January 1956) as the licensee for [l=Columbia Records].
Also appears as [l=Gramophone Record Co.] on earlier releases. Succeeded by [l=Gramophone Record Co. (Pty.) Ltd.].
