Founded in Hamburg in 1975 by [a=Günter Körber] after quitting his executive post with , a label that he had co-founded. Sky focused on a similar roster of electronic, ambient, Krautrock and progressive rock to Brain, including releasing material by Cluster and other Brain related artists, plus many new groups and exclusive discoveries. In later years the label concentrated mostly on instrumental and new age music.
The very last Sky new release came out in 2000. Last represses known were in 2003. Since the label ceased many reissues have appeared on: and often with the original Sky label design.
