Real Name: Albert Floyd Piccirilli
Al Rex (July 13, 1928, Black Horse, Philadelphia, USA – May 24, 2020, Norristown, Pennsylvania) was an American bassist. He was a member of and left the band after playing bass on "Rocket '88" in 1951 and tried his hand at a solo career. replaced Al Rex in Bill Haley And The Saddlemen, and in 1952 the group was renamed as . In 1955, Marshall Lytle quit Bill Haley And His Comets to form and Rex was persuaded to join. He remained until 1958, leaving to become a member of . During the 1960s, Al continued to do occasional session work with his former bandmates, and died in May 2020 aged 91.
