


Wess Johnson
Real Name: Wesley Johnson
American-Italian singer and bass guitarist. Born August 13, 1945 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Died September 21, 2009. Older brother of [a=Orlando Johnson]. Father of [a=Romina Johnson] and [a=Deborah Johnson].
Musically formed in New York, in the first '60s came to Italy with [a=The Airedales], ([a=Rocky Roberts]'s orchestra where his brother [a=Marvin Johnson (4)] played drums) who became his band in 1967. He began his solo career singing in Italian [i]I Miei Giorni Felici[/i], which was top song 1968. For years he formed a successful duo with [a=Dori Ghezzi]; 1st their hit [i]Voglio Stare Con Te[/i] (lyrics by [a=Luigi Albertelli]) cover of [i]United We Stand[/i] by [a=Brotherhood of Man].
