Flipmode Squad is a hip‑hop collective formed and fronted by [a=Trevor Smith (4)] aka [a=Busta Rhymes], originally launched in the early ’90s as he transitioned from [a=Leaders of the New School]. The group gained prominence with the 1998 release of their sole studio album, The Imperial, on Elektra Records. The squad’s roster has shifted over time.
