Gershon Jackson (born September 2, 1971, in Chicago, Illinois) is a DJ, producer, and songwriter known for his contributions to house and hip-house music. He began his career in the early 1990s in Chicago's club scene, performing under the alias DJ Shon. He released early tracks such as “Y’all Be Eazy,” “Kan U Pump It,” and “Houze Muzik All Nite Long.” In 1995, he released the single “Rejoice” featuring Kim English on Big Beat/Atlantic, which gained club and chart success. He later collaborated with Ten City and contributed to songwriting and production for various artists.
Jackson’s track “Nite Life” with Kim English reached #10 on the Billboard Dance chart and #20 on the UK Dance Singles Chart.
In the 2010s, he founded the label Omni Music Solutions and returned with releases such as “Take It Easy” (Strictly Rhythm/Defected, 2016) and “Huggin’ & A Luvin’” (Omni Music Solutions, 2017). Both were released with several remixes and gained renewed attention in the house music community.
