British funk guitarist, vocalist, songwriter and producer
Paul Phillips played guitar for the brit funk group Hi-Tension.
Paul Phillips produced A.D. 2000 in 1981 and then had a top 40 hit with DC Allstars version of 301489. He then went on to work for record labels Street Sounds, Streetwave and Hardback. He signed up young 16 year old singer Dina Carroll who was the voice on 859460 and 204608 by the group Masquerade.
In 1988, he played guitar on Sinéad O'Connor’s 1086986, mixed by Tee Morris and Lloyd Phillips.
He also remixed Talking Heads 39230. In India he has worked as a musical director for a series called City of Dreams.
Paul is also a member of Boogie Box High with George Michael singing lead vocals.
Paul is the uncredited Producer of "You Got the Love" cover of Frankie Knuckles 'Your Love' both tracks Appeared on Frankie Knuckles Greatest Hits on Trax Records.
In this interview [url=https://ra.co/features/1955 ]RA[/url] Frankie Knuckles dissociates himself and confirms that some tracks on Trax records was not made by him.
The brief was make a version of your love, unbeknownst to us, we did not know that Trax Records would use and credit our Version to Mr Knuckles ;(

Unfortunately Paul did not get credited as Producer on the sleeve. (all versions with the piano intro i.e the London Mix are Paul Phillips Productions)
