American soul singer, born May 7, 1936 in Collinsville, Mississippi; died November 17, 2014 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was the older brother of the late David Ruffin of The Temptations. He had several hit records between the 1960s and 1980s, the most successful being 1966's "What Becomes of the Brokenhearted."
