Franz Konwitschny

German conductor and violist, born 14 August 1901 in Fulnek, Moravia (today Czech Republic) and died 28 July 1962 during a concert tour in Belgrade, Yugoslavia (today Serbia). He is the father of German opera director [a=Peter Konwitschny].
