Milan Horvat

Real Name: Milan Horvat

Milan Horvat was a Croatian conductor, born on the 28th of July, 1919 in Pakrac, Croatia. He graduated the piano and conductorship (in the class of Milan Sachs and Friedrich Zaun) at the Music Academy in Zagreb. From 1969 until 1975 he was the headmaster of the [a=ORF Symphonieorchester]. Horvat was also a lifetime Honorary Principal Conductor of the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra. He worked with many eminet musicians like Mstislava Rostropovich, David Ojstrah, Yehudi Menuhin, Artur Benedetti and received numerous awards for his work and contributions during his lifetime. Horvat died in Innsbruck, Austria on the 1st of January 2014 at the age of 94.

Some of his earlier recordings were fraudulently used by [a=Alfred Scholz], who falsely credited them to fake orchestras like the [a=Philharmonia Slavonica] and falsely crediting the conductor to fake conductors like [a=Henry Adolph], [a=Alberto Lizzio], [a=Alexander von Pitamic], [a=Denis Zsoltay], [a=Hymisher Greenburg], or to [a=Alfred Scholz] himself.
