The Coolies

The Coolies are pop rock band formed by Kim Shattuck ("Kimba Coolie"), Melanie Vammen ("Melimba Coolie"), and Palmrya Delran ("Palimba Coolie"), all of whom sing and play a variety of instruments for the band. The band is bi-costal, with Shattuck and Vammen based in Los Angeles while Delran lived in New York. Their debut release, a 10" EP entitled "Uh Oh...It's the Coolies" was released in the summer of 2019 on Little Steven's Wicked Cool Record Co., with all proceeds being donated to research regarding amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a disease that ran in Shattuck's family and which she had been diagnosed with in 2017 (she would ultimately succumb to the disease in October of 2019).
