Worked with The Alabamians 1927-1931, joined [a=Tiny Parham] in 1931, moved to New York in 1933, joined Charlie Turner's Arcadians in 1934. For a time married to [a=Ethel Waters] and led her band 1935-1939. Led own bands during 1940s. Ceased playing, working as an agent, first in Atlantic City, then in New York,
