Paul Robb

Real Name: Paul Jason Robb

Growing up in Minneapolis, in 1982 he decided to start up a small synth-pop band known then as "The Information Society" (InSoc), with friends Kurt Harland and Pamela Brustman. Robb then invited James Cassidy to join the band and they released an unsuccessful EP in 1983. Next year, Murat Konar joined the band. In 1985 after signed on Wide Angle Records they released an album "Creatures Of Influence," which included the song "Running."

After Tommy Boy Records bought their contract from Wide Angle Records, and commissioned Joey Gardner and Little "Louie" Vega to remix "Running," which became an overnight hit all over the U.S., both in clubs and on the radio.

The group's next single. "What's On Your Mind (Pure Energy)," became an even bigger sensation, charting at #1 in many countries around the world, and landing at #3 in the U.S. Several Top Forty singles followed over the next few years.

Aside from producing Information Society material, he went on to produce and remix many Freestyle and Synthpop albums for TKA, Red Flag, Anything Box,T42, and others.

After several years of hit and miss InSoc success, Paul Robb left the group after their third album's lackluster sales.

Robb went on to produce albums for Dissonance and his alias Think Tank on his label Hakatak.

Robb continues producing albums for other artists and his side project with vocalist Barbara Cohen as Brother Sun Sister Moon / Luminous as well as producing music for television and commercials for which he has received various awards, including several Clios.

In 2006, he decided to re-form InSoc.
