WDR Sinfonieorchester Köln
German classical symphony orchestra, part of the public broadcaster WDR (Westdeutscher Rundfunk), based at the Kölner Philharmonie.
The orchestra was inaugurated in 1947 under the auspices of the regional broadcaster Nordwestdeutscher Rundfunk (NWDR). Later named Kölner Rundfunk-Sinfonie-Orchester and from the 1990s as "WDR Sinfonieorchester Köln".
Not to be confused with WDR Funkhausorchester.
