Sara Rilling
Sara Maria Rilling was born into a musical family in Stuttgart: daughter of , sister of . Her musical education began on the piano and continued on the viola with Friedrich Rüstig and at the University in Stuttgart.
She studied in Salzburg at the Mozarteum with and later in Berlin with and and completed her diploma in Weimar studying under .
Additional musical impulses came through masterclasses with , , Paul Coletti and .
Sara is a member of the , plays regularly in the , played with and the .
Sara is a passionate chamber musician and performed with , , , and among others.
As a soloist she played with the , the , the , the , (Kolombia), the (Texas), the Orquesta Sinfonica de Merida (Venezuela) and the in Caracas.
Sara is a musical embassador. Since more then 10 years she works with much success giving lessons to children from the slums in Venezuela and giving them another perspektive of life through music. She gave masterclasses for Viola in Chile, Venezuela, Colombia and Africa and teaches in Germany.
She founded the international chamber music academy Hohenstaufen, with students from the whole world, which takes place every year in Hohenstaufen near Stuttgart. She lives as an freelancing artist in Berlin.
