Mother of Dolly Parton, Stella Parton, Willadeene Parton, Cassie Parton, Randy Parton, Freida Parton, Floyd Parton and Rachel Dennison; grandmother of Jada Star, Heidi Parton and Rebecca Seaver; daughter of Jake Robert Owens; sister of Louis Owens, Bill Owens, John Henry III, Estelle Watson, and Dorothy Jo Hope; aunt of Gary Puckett, Dwight Puckett, Debbie Jo Puckett, Richie Owens and Jeff Owens.
Recorded a gospel album with her daughters Willadeene, Stella and Cassie in 1968 as "The Parton Family," provided back-up vocals on Dolly's recording of "Applejack," and made a small number of solo recordings in the 1970s and 1980s.
