Former resident DJ at influential club nights Speed, Tempo, Promised Land and resident DJ/promoter at Swerve.
Hosted radio shows on Phase One and, with [a=Grooverider], Radio 1, Kiss FM and Rinse FM.
Founder and owner of the [l=Creative Source] label.
Fabio's nickname came from his time on Brixton-based pirate station Phase One around 1984 when he was asked to come up with a DJ name before his first show. He remembered a conversation with a girl he knew about baby names and thought "Fabio" was a great one. He introduced himself as "DJ Fabio" and the name stuck.
Fabio is known for pioneering a style of Drum 'n' Bass he named 'liquid'. The name came from hip hop group [a=The Likwit Junkies]' description of their music as 'liquid funk'.
