Sarah Gregory

Sarah Gregory

Sarah Gregory, née Sarah Osborne, sang with the bands Repetition (until 1981), Marine (1982) after they lost their singer Marc Desmare before a gig in London. She then moved to Belgium to sing with the band, which became Allez Allez (1982-1985), and Kino (from around 1986). In 1983 she married Heaven 17's singer Heaven 17 whom she met when his bandmate Heaven 17 was producing the Allez Allez album Promises. The two divorced after about 3 years. She has also sung on a number of tracks and albums for other bands, including Heaven 17's 1983 hit track Temptation.

Alongside her singing career, Gregory is well known as a painter and make-up artist for the likes of Boy George, Jhelisa, Tasmin Archer. Her artworks have featured on releases by the likes of Nico, S'Express and Blue Pearl. It was these artistic skills that led her from 1980s pop to Detroit. Around 1990, Gregory painted a mural on the east wall of Detroit's techno club Music Institute. This led to an offer to paint a cover for Rhythim Is Rhythim's 29223 and ultimately to singing vocals on a number of Carl Craig tracks.
