Herbert Blomstedt

Swedish-American conductor, born 11 July 1927 in Springfield, Massachusetts, USA and raised in Sweden.

He has been Music Director or Principal Conductor of the (1954–62), (1962–68), (1967–77), , (1977–82), (1975–85), (1985–95), (1996–98) and (1998–2005).
