Carmelo Garcia
Real Name: Hungría Carmelo Garcia
Dominican drummer and timbales player. Born in 1935, he worked for a long time with Mongo Santamaria and in the 70s he formed the latin rock group Riot. Other artists with whom Carmelo recorded were, among others: George Shearing, Gabor Szabo, Hadley Caliman, Luis Gasca, Don Ellis, Gary Saracho, Freddie Hubbard, Moacir Santos, Joe Henderson, Barrett Strong, Stevie Wonder, Cal Tjader, Mickey Hart, Bobby Bland, Hubert Laws.
Died in April 2014.
