"Kurisuti-na" is actually the actress Christina Ricci. Beck was looking for a Japanese sushi waitress to voice a part in "Hell Yes" for his "Guero" album. Unable to find a suitable voice; he decided to let Christina try when she happened to be at the recording studio one day, and she "just absolutely nailed it".
