British jazz photographer and writer.
Born December 7, 1941 in Harrogate, England
Wilmer is known for her interest all things related to British African-Caribbean culture, especially the jazz scene of the 1960s and 1970s. Books include "Jazz People" (1970) and "As Serious as Your Life" (1977) on the New Jazz of the 1960s.
Her brother was the poet and writer Clive Wilmer.
