John McCarthy
Real Name: Eugene Patrick John McCarthy OBE
British chorus master, scholar, composer and arranger, b. 1919 d. 2009. Co-founder with Denis Stevens in 1951 of the The Ambrosian Singers. In the 1960s, when he was chorus master of the London Symphony Orchestra, was known as the London Symphony Orchestra Chorus (not to be confused with the London Symphony Chorus).
