Along with Ken Bell and Terry Skinner, as a songwriting trio, known for pop and country hits, including "Touch Me When We're Dancing," "Even the Nights Are Better" and "Mama's Never Seen Those Eyes."
Member of the Alabama Music Hall of Fame and Muscle Shoals Sound Studios, and was vice president of Widgett Studios.
