Formed in 1983 after the disbanding of the mod revival band The Directions by their guitarist and songwriter Tony Burke, their bassist Martin Wilson and their drummer Steve Martinez. Singer Julie Hadwen was added to the line up as well as Mace Carnochan on keyboards. Although they had written to Paul Weller who was looking for new artists for his Respond Records label, they signed to MCA Records and recorded one album and four singles.
