


George Piros
Real Name: George T. Piros
American mastering engineer, born March 15, 1919; died February 3, 1985, New City, N.Y. (age 65).
Known to have engineered at [l=Reeves Sound Studios], [l=Fine Recording Studios], [l=Sadler Studios New York] and [l=Atlantic Studios], New York City.
Founded Fine Sound, in Tomkins Cove, N.Y., with C. [a=Robert Fine] after leaving Reeves circa 1951, and worked with Fine and [a=Wilma Cozart] on the [l=Mercury Living Presence] series of recordings, and was the vinyl mastering component of this team. Piros also did the stereo-engineered pressings of the [l=Command Classics] series of recordings.
Retired from Atlantic Records in 1984.
