Malcolm Davies
British mastering and lacquer cutting engineer, notably for mastering many of [a=The Beatles]' original releases.
He started cutting at [l=EMI Studios] in 1958, where we worked for 10 years. He subsequently moved on to [l=Apple Studios], where he worked for seven years.
He has worked at [l=Pye Studios] (later [l=PRT studios]) since 1967.
He died in 2015.
At Pye, his cuts can be recognized by △M, ♢M, ✳M in the runouts ([u][b]attention[/b]: until 1966 these symbols were used by [a=Derek Moore (3)][/u]).
In later years, he used the initials MD.
