Charles Axton

Saxophonist, born 17 February 1941, died January 1974.

Founding member of the [b]Mar-Keys[/b] (originally named [i]The Royal Spades[/i]) in the late 1950s. He also formed [b]The Packers[/b], best known for their 1965 R&B hit [i]Hole In The Wall[/i].

Charles "Packy" Axton was a son of [l=Stax] records co-founder [a=Estelle Axton].
