Real Name: Игорь Артурович Дронов
Igor Dronov is a Russian conductor, professor at the Department of Opera and Orchestral Conducting at the [l=Moscow Conservatory], principal conductor of [b][/b]. In 1992, he graduated from the Moscow Conservatory, where he had been studying choral conducting with [url=https://discogs.com/artist/1740164]Boris Tevlin[/url] and opera/orchestral conducting with [a=Dimitrij Kitaenko]. He also participated in [a=Georg Solti] and [a=Pierre Boulez] seminars.
Dronov has conducted at the [l=Bolshoi Theatre] since 1991. He acted as a musical director for many ballets, including [a=Arvo Pärt]'s [i]Chamber N.6[/i], [i]Lea[/i] set to the music of [a=Leonard Bernstein], and [i]A Midsummer Night's Dream[/i] by J. Neumeier to the music of [a=Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy] and [a=György Ligeti] (received "Golden Mask" prize for the best ballet production). Igor frequently performs as a guest conductor with well-known ensembles and orchestras, including the [a=Russian National Orchestra] and [a=Ensemble Modern].
