Trombonist and euphonium player, born Bernard Atwell McKinney November 26, 1932 in Detroit; died May 20, 2024 in New York Methodist Hospital, Brooklyn, NYC. Took the name Kiane Zawadi in the first half of the 1960s.
Zawadi played or recorded with Donald Byrd (1955), Pepper Adams (1959), Slide Hampton, James Moody (1961), Mongo Santamaria, Lionel Hampton, Dizzy Gillespie, and Aretha Franklin.
