The Williams Sisters
Originally from Scranton, Pennsylvania, the Williams Sisters consisted of Dorothy Williams and her younger sister Hannah Williams (1911-1973).
The Williams Sisters began performing in vaudeville, as pre-teens, around 1918. They appeared in Broadway shows in the 1920s, including the 1924 version of George White's "Scandals."
They recorded under their own name for [l=Victor] and as vocalists on records by Charley Straight And His Orchestra (Brunswick) and Ben Pollack And His Californians (Victor). They also appeared as vocalists in a Vitaphone short by Roger Wolfe Kahn And His Orchestra in 1927. Hannah Williams was later a solo artist.
