Zachary Sanders

Zachary Sanders had a busy career as a New York-based studio singer from 1975 to 1985. During this period, he sang on albums by Grover Washington, Jr., Peaches & Herb, Burt Bacharach, George Benson, Steely Dan, Donald Fagen, Blondie, Roberta Flack, The Neville Brothers, Billy Joel, Brothers Johnson, Patti Austin, Bob James, Freddie Hubbard, Hank Crawford, Quincy Jones, Jackie McLean, and others, mostly as a backup vocalist. He was featured on records by the groups Change, Cousin Ice and Bionic Boogie.

Just before this period, he sang two songs for the "Schoolhouse Rock!" animation series: "Verb: That's What's Happening" and "Electricity, Electricity" (1973).

Sanders can be seen in the concert film 4588281 singing "Just the Two of Us" as a member of Grover Washington Jr.'s band. The concert was filmed on June 27, 1981 at The Schubert Theatre in Philadelphia, when Sanders was 35. Sanders died at 46 in 1992.
