NDR Sinfonieorchester

German radio orchestra based in Hamburg and affiliated to the public broadcaster (NDR). In English, the name is usually given as the Hamburg Radio Orchestra.

It was founded as the (affiliated to ) in 1945 and renamed to [b]NDR Sinfonieorchester[/b] in 1955/56. Since April 2016 the orchestra is residing at the Elbphilharmonie, Hamburg as the .
