The Likwit Junkies

The Likwit Junkies is a hip-hop duo consisting of [a=Chris Oroc] aka [a=Babu] and [a=Duane Johnson] aka [a=Defari]. The group is an extension of the Likwit Crew, a collective founded by [a=Tha Alkaholiks] that includes artists like Xzibit and King T. DJ Babu, a member of the influential turntablist group [a=Beat Junkies] and [a=Dilated Peoples], provides the duo’s signature scratch-heavy production, while [a=Defari] delivers his signature West Coast lyricism.
In 2005, The Likwit Junkies released their debut album The L.J.’s, which featured production from DJ Babu and guest appearances from artists like Tha Alkaholiks, Evidence, and Phil Da Agony. The album blended classic boom-bap beats with raw lyricism, appealing to both underground and backpack rap fans.
